This colonial-style stone and thatch cottage is a lovely, modern open-plan unit, situated conveniently close to the camping area – a peaceful retreat with a quiet sense of command, much like the eagle it’s named after.

The Black Eagle (Aquila verreauxii) is one of Africa’s most powerful raptors, nesting on cliff faces and soaring on thermals above mountainous terrain. Pairs mate for life and can be seen gliding effortlessly over the bushveld below – much like the view that awaits you from Berghaan’s private patio.
